Active systems: come in two forms. Direct circulation systems pump water from the household through collectors, which are then supplied where they are needed at home. They have automatic controllers that they sense when sunlight is available. However, systems are ineffective at temperatures below zero.

Intermediate circulation systems heat the water by pumping it through an anti-freeze transferring heat. Then it is sent by collectors and heat exchanger. They operate in negative temperatures and for many heating applications, they are often more expensive than direct circulation systems.

Passive systems: there are also two types available. The integral passive system for storage of collectors consists of a storage tank, a solar collector and pipes that pump cold water to the collector. It suits a home that needs hot water during the day and in the evening, but it also does not work so well in low outdoor temperatures.

Other advantages of Solar Water Heaters:

1. Size selection:

Proper selection is necessary because homeowners must have enough storage space to meet 90 to 100 percent of hot water demand. Storage capacity is also included. A storage tank of 50 to 60 gallons is suitable for a maximum of three people, a tank with a capacity of 80 gallons for up to four people and greater for up to six people.

2. High efficiency:

About 80 percent of solar radiation turns into the heat energy needed to obtain hot water at home.

3. Savings:

The cost of two or three panels is cheaper than for larger home installations. You can also save on fuel bills for the delivery of gas heating systems.

4. Low maintenance costs:

After installation of Solar water heater - Singapore, little maintenance is required, and the solar water heater can function for up to 20 years.
